Studio Policy

The rules and regulations contained in the Studio Policy govern the teacher/student relationship and are incorporated as terms and conditions between the studio and the student/parent. No exceptions to the Studio Policy are permitted. Failure by either the student or parent to strictly comply with the rules and regulations set forth in the Studio Policy may result in the termination of the contract by the studio. No refunds of advance payments or fees will be provided in the case of termination due to the breach of the Studio Policy by the student or parent.

Minor Policy

To ensure the safety of all students and instructors, any student enrolled in lessons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an attentive parent or guardian for the entirety of their lesson. Not only does this provide a safe environment for learning, but it allows the instructor to ask the parent/guardian any questions as they arise.

Especially for young children, having an involved parent to help guide their practice sessions at home is paramount. At times the instructor may provide “oversight instructions” to the parent to make sure the student is practicing correctly. An example would be showing the parent the proper right hand position and technique for running a C Major scale on the piano. This ensures they know what to look for when their student is practicing even if they don’t have personal experience with the instrument.

MMS is software the studio uses to offer you helpful resources, access to your upcoming lessons, invoices, and more. It’s free for you to use and once we get you set up with an account, simply log in from our login page at studiostation.org

Tuition

Tuition is based on a flat monthly price of $155.00. Monthly payments are due on the first day of the month. No lessons will be provided during the month unless the entire monthly payment has been made prior to the first lesson.

An online payment portal is available through MMS and for convenience you can take advantage of the autopay feature. Alternatively, the studio accepts check, cash, and Zelle payments.

Late Payment Fee

Because payments are due on the first day of the month, payments not made within a seven day grace period will incur a late penalty of $25.

Multi-Month Payment Discount

You will receive a 10% discount on tuition if you pay for 3 months or more at a time. We will accept payments up to a year in advance. Notify the studio that you would like to make an advance payment and we will invoice you accordingly to ensure you get the discount

Refund Policy

The studio does not offer refunds unless we decide the student would be better served by a different music studio or instructor outside of Studio Station. This is entirely up to the studio’s discretion and could happen for reasons related to student behavior, parent behavior, lack of practice, consistent absences, or simply because we are not a good fit. Advance payments will not be refunded if a withdrawal from Studio Station is made by a parent or student.

Cancellation Policy

If a lesson is cancelled before the 24 hour deadline, you will receive a makeup credit that you can use on make-up day or during another open lesson slot dispersed throughout the year (viewable on the MMS calendar). These credits will expire within 60 days if not used. Any lesson cancelled within 24 hours of the lesson will not receive a makeup credit regardless of the reason.

Late Arrivals

Lessons are often back to back and it is important that the studio stays on schedule. For this reason the studio will not extend lessons or offer makeup credits for late arrivals. The expectation is that the student will be on time for their lesson. Showing up to the studio early and waiting for the instructor to welcome you in is the best protocol.

Example: If the student shows up 15 minutes late to a 30 minute lesson, they will receive a 15 minute lesson that day.

Monthly Make-up Day

On the last Saturday of the month, the studio offers a day for students to schedule make-up lessons. If a student has missed a lesson anytime during the month, the student may schedule a make-up lesson on make-up day through MMS. Lesson slots on make-up day are on a first come, first serve basis and when the allotment for lessons on make-up day are filled, no further make-up lessons will be provided.

If you have provided adequate notice for an absence and cannot schedule a lesson on makeup day due to scheduling conflicts, the instructor may work with you to find another time for a make-up lesson (using your make-up credit). Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and will be accommodated at the instructor’s discretion.

Instructor Absence

Illness or other emergencies may arise which prevent the instructor from offering a lesson at a scheduled time. If the instructor is unable to provide a scheduled lesson due to illness or other reasons, make-up lessons will be scheduled at a time when the student and instructor are available. No refunds or credits will be provided if the make-up lesson cannot be scheduled.
